Inclusivity
The Montgomery County Regional Student Government Association is an organization that is meant to represent and advocate for all students across our county. However, many regions and groups of students are not fully included and represented. We must ensure that certain schools are not given a disproportionate amount of influence, and that we are including all perspectives in student leadership and advocacy.

Creating a stipend program prioritizing students on FARMs to ensure all students who wish to can get involved in advocacy regardless of socioeconomic status or obligations.

Ensuring student participation from underrepresented schools, particularly those in the NEC and DCC through an increase in outreach.

Keeping a closer control of MCR’s regional makeup to ensure some schools are not given disproportionate representation and control over the organization.

Working with students across the county to create a more inclusive curriculum for our school systems through the MCR platform.

Increasing initiatives and funding going to advocacy efforts for the LGBTQ+ community through MCR platforms.

Increasing participation from underrepresented voices such as students with disabilities, students of color, and students from the LGBTQ+ community in MCR and other county-wide advocacy efforts through an increase in outreach.

Increasing MCR advocacy efforts to allocate funding to increase compliance in Montgomery County Public Schools with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The elimination of these barriers is imperative in ensuring students are given equitable opportunities to succeed.

Advocating for the consistent distribution of MCRs information in a wider variety of languages.

Reaching out and connecting with students with disabilities to ensure these voices are consistently represented and amplified both within MCR, and across the county.

Emphasizing self-advocacy skill-building for students through holding educational seminars, outreach, and resources allocation.
